International borders open when 80% vaccinated: Unvaccinated Australians will rank below Chinese and other tourists, students who have received inferior Sinovax and other Made in China vaccines

Prime Minister Scott Morrison was asked this afternoon about the eventual opening of international borders.

"Can you envisage opening that to a state, like New South Wales, that get above 80 per cent (vaccination rate) and not waiting for states that don't want to open," the reporter asked.

"Yes, I can," he said.

"The National Plan sets out that very clearly."

"It's a plan that will see Australia open up again and move forward again," he said.

"It doesn't come without risks and it's important it is done safely."

In the case of Australia in particular, opening international borders will mean the return of Chinese students and tourists. China has a policy of using home made products such as Sinovax, which even Singapore will not trust.Additionally entry into China requires proof of vaccination by one of these products. 

Meanwhile Morrison has indicated that he will at least support laws to exclude unvaccinated Australians from pubs, venues and the like, because they are a public health risk. 

The Prime Minister has put Australians in a position where they can be excluded from venues open to Chinese and other foreign tourists and students on the basis of their vaccination, regardless of how weak their level of COVID resistance, and thus capacity to infect others, might be. 

It is something that he might want to put to Australian voters, vaccinated or not, in the coming election.

Is tough talking Dan Andrews laying the groundwork for accepting weakly immunised Sinnovaxed students and tourists from China?

                                      Even Dan Andrews will need a Sinovac shot to visit China 

From Dan Andrews: 

“Anyone who thinks they will be travelling around the world without having been vaccinated, your vaccination status is going to be a thing, you are not getting a visa unless you have been double dosed,” he said.

“Whether people like that or it's a terrible attack on the civil liberties, people die when they get this so there are limits.

"Choices are made that are not your choices in many ways, I mean that in the absolute literal sense. They’re choices that affect you yes, they’re made by you, but they affect so many others.”

This may well be true, but it is a fact that the hospitality industry in Victoria, like that of most of Australia, depends on tourism. Chinese tourists are highly sought after, but China has a policy of providing only its own home made Sinonaxx, and others like it.

Sinnovax has been shown to be so ineffective that even China friendly Singapore will not count among its vaccinated those who have been Sinnovaxed. 

Dan may want Chinese tourists, and students, back in Victoria, but they should only be admitted if they have received Pfizer, AstraZenaca, Modena or Novavax.
