Malaysia will mark Russia Day by lighting up KL Tower in the colours of the Russian flag - Australia not extended same honour, despite High Commissioner aggressively pushing DFAT's policy of promoting LGBTIQ rights

This is not being projected onto
                                              KL Tower, for some reason

As reported by the NST:

The Kuala Lumpur Tower will be illuminated in Russia's national flag colours to commemorate Russia Day tomorrow (June 12).

In a statement, the Russian Embassy in Malaysia said the 421m-tower will be glowing in white, blue, and red as an ode for the entire Russian community in the country.

It said adorning the seventh-tallest communications tower in the world with their flag colours was a way to continue their tradition to celebrate their national day for their countrymen in Malaysia despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

Russian Embassy staff have been quite good in their public diplomacy efforts. Australian High Commission staff on the other hand, including the High Commissioner , have chosen to lecture, and condescend.

Why is the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia challenging the Malaysian Government's opposition to LGBTIQ issues- High Commissioner & DFAT's stance in Malaysia not likely to advance Australia's national interest ,can harm BHP's operations in Malaysia

 by Ganesh Sahathevan

The Malaysian Government's long standing opposition to the LGBTIQ movement is clearly described by this headline in the Malay Mail:

Putrajaya says opposing US  president Biden’s global

pro-LGBT initiative

Despite that unequivocal stance the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia Andrew Goledzinowski seems determined to challenge the Malaysian Government's opposition to LGBTIQ issues. How his blundering, on behalf of D(a)FT, might promote Australian national interests is hard to see.

Additionally his co-opting BHP Bluescope into his campaign can  harm BHP's business in Malaysia:
