In 2012 Kuwait Muslim Brotherhood leader Tareq Al-Suwaidan toured Australia, visa fast-tracked by then Labor  Minister for Immigration Chris Bowen , despite objections over Suwaidan's anti-Jew, jihadi worldview

In June 2010, Dr. Tareq Al-Suwaidan was the guest speaker at an AIM fundraising dinner... In May 2007, Al-Suwaidan was listed as a member of the US Muslim Brotherhood and an unindicted co-conspirator and/or joint venturer in a case between the US District Court, Dallas Division and the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF). In 2008, the founders of HLF were found guilty of channelling $12 million to Hamas in one of the largest terrorism financing cases in US history. Last year Al-Suwaidan was banned from attending a Muslim Fair in Brussels after he said of Israel “... We hate them. They are our enemies. We should instil this in the souls of our children, until a new generation arises and wipes them off the face of the earth … each and every one of us, when leaving this hall, should be contemplating a plan how to wipe out Israel.”

AND

The secretary of AIM Melbourne Dr. Seyed Sheriffdeen said AIM invited Al-Suwaidan to speak because he was popular but did not endorse his views “100 per cent. We cherry pick,” he explained... There is nothing moderate however about the video AIM Victoria shared on its Facebook page, which shows a picture of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with the sound of a gunshot firing and a photo apparently of former Israeli defence minister Ehud Barak with a rifle sight over his face and the sound of a gun firing. AIM Victoria’s Facebook page also shared a photo of the book Fiqh al-Zakah by Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, with the exhortation “Read to understand ...” Qaradawi, an intellectual leader in the Muslim Brotherhood, ... has said of suicide bombing, “I consider this type of martyrdom operation as an evidence of God’s justice....”. In 2009, Qaradawi said on Al Jazeera: “Throughout history, Allah has imposed upon the Jews people who would punish them for their corruption ... The last punishment was carried out by Hitler ... Allah Willing, the next time will be at the hand of the believers.”

By 2013 Al-Suwaidan proved too extreme for even the Saudis, who banned him from entering their country even to perform umrah  or minor.pilgrimage. The Saudis have also banned his books.

Dr Tareq Al Suwaidan completes successful Australian tour

Human Appeal International Sydney, Wednesday 20 June 2012

After a successful tour in 2010, Human Appeal International Australia once again invited Dr Al Suwaidan to provide a series of lectures and conduct training courses in leadership skills in order to enrich the community in Australia.

Dr Tareq Al Suwaidan from Kuwait is an expert management trainer with more than thirty years experience and is the founder of over eighty organisations.

Arriving in Australia on Saturday 9 June, he started his tour in Melbourne with a public lecture at Monash University titled “Our Identity” and was welcomed by an audience of nearly 700 people.

For the first time in Australia, Dr Al Suwaidan conducted a 2-day training course called “Discover and Train Future Leaders.” The course was delivered on 10-11 June at the Novotel Melbourne Hotel with over sixty participants in attendance. They came from various fields including community and organisational leaders, school teachers, business people and students. A similar course was held in Sydney on 16 and 17 June attended by over seventy participants.

“Feedback from attendees was extremely positive with most requesting similar high quality events in the future,” said Bashar Al-Jamal, the regional director of Human Appeal.

Another course conducted by Dr Al Suwaidan during the tour was titled “Plan Your Life” and was exclusively for women. In total more than 130 participated in this course in both Melbourne and Sydney.

A series of public lectures on various topics were also held in Sydney attracting a combined audience of more than 3,000 people.

Dr Al Suwaidan was a special guest speaker at fundraising dinners held in Melbourne and Sydney and was also invited by a community organisation in Adelaide to raise funds for the Syrian refugees. Mr Bashar Al-Jamal reported that, “Through these fundraising events, Human Appeal International was able to raise over $1 million dollars for the victims of the worsening humanitarian crisis in Syria. We were overwhelmed by the tremendous expression of generosity from the community.”

The 10-day tour concluded on Tuesday 19 June 2012. Human Appeal International Australia would like to extend a sincere vote of thanks to all its donors and supporters.
