Tugu Negara , a memorial to Malaysian and Australian soldiers who were killed during the Emergency was destroyed by Communist Party China backed terrorists and rebuilt by an Australian -History forgotten in PM Albo's South East Asian reset, in Sabah born FM Penny Wong's SEA outreach, and her familial links to the CPC's United Works Front

Tugu Negara,  the national monument in Malaysia dedicated to Malaysian and Commonwealth , often Australian soldiers who fought Communist Party China (CPC) backed Communist terrorists during the 1948-60 Emergency, was destroyed by Communist terrorists in 1975.

Christopher Carney, an Australian who was then a lecturer at Malaysia's MARA Institute Of Technology,  led the project to rebuild the  monument.

The monument and that incident encapsulates the context of the deep historical and in particular defence ties between Malaysia and Australia that has gone on regardless of politics. New Prime Minister Albanese In his haste to "reset"  ties between Australia and Malaysia, and the rest of ASEAN, seems to have forgotten, if not is ignorant of that history.

If he can recall or  is aware of that history he ought to understand why circumspection is required when he keeps parroting "reset",  and why his Foreign Minister Penny Wong's Sabah antecedents are a problem.
