The COVID pandemic has seen governments and the politicians that lead them abandon their usual role of regulator, instead adapting that of pharmaceutical salesmen and women.
In promoting the vaccines approved for use in their countries politicians have abandoned all caution and gone so far as to make claims that BioNTech has been careful not to make, and to conceal risks that it has disclosed.
Worse, when there are side-effects, governments have taken to ignoring, if not disparaging those who raise concerns, even when the side-effects lead to death.
These are early days but the future could see legal action, and possibly class actions considered against all concerned
