COMMENT
Australian politicians often describe Australia as the most successful multicultural society in the world.
Unknown to many Australians is the fact that their taxes fund that "success". Take for example this excerpt from the NSW Budget Report 2018-2019:
As readers can see from the financial statement above (which has also been extracted from the NSW Budget Report) the expenditure is ongoing.
How much is actually spent of ensuring that the country's multitude of tribes do not tear into each other is unclear. Even the Prime Minister Scott Morrison seems unwilling to say how much:
Specifically focussing in on the many communities that make up modern Australia. Australia is the most successful multicultural nation anywhere on Earth. We are the most successful immigration nation anywhere on Earth. Immigration has been one of the key pillars of Australia's social and economic success over a very long period of time.
On the social side in this budget there is important things we're doing to maintain the social cohesion as we keep our country together. Then our country will be more prosperous and they're important things we need to do. We need to ensure that language media is available so all Australians, regardless of their background, can understand what is occurring in their country as patriots. They'll be keen to understand the policies of the government.
The Prime Minister was speaking about the Budget his Government has just handed down.
