MACC chief Lateefah Koya is reported to have said:
But about 18 billion ringgit (US$4.34 billion) in assets remain unidentified and Malaysia was working with at least five countries to recover the amount, Latheefa Koya, the head of Malaysia’s Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), told reporters.
"This what we're working on ... to locate, investigate and research where these properties are," Latheefa said.
Identifying the assets acquired illegally using 1MDB assets is a process which must start at Ground Zero, which has been established now in court to be Najib Razak's accounts at AMBank.
That the assets have yet to be identified suggests that AMbank is not cooperating, or worse, that AMBank's records have yet to be properly identified. In either case, the situation must concern Malaysian citizens who voted Najib Razak out in order to stop the theft, and recover whatever had been stolen.
