Is the AFP ignoring the basics of physical protection while chasing online " threats" to politicians - Car crash involving PM Morrison's security detail entirely predictable , but AFP was not prepared

On 30 March 2022 the AFP announced:

The AFP will set up a major incident coordination centre with a specialised investigative taskforce to help ensure the security of high-office holders and parliamentarians during the 2022 Federal election.

The incident coordination centre will coordinate hundreds of investigators, intelligence officers and protective security specialists, including close personal protection members.

The Taskforce (Operation Wilmot) will focus on investigations and will receive all reports of electoral-related crime, including security threats to parliamentarians and candidates.

he Taskforce sends a strong message to the community that the AFP is dedicated to protecting democracy, protecting high-office holders and will not hesitate to identify and arrest those who break the law.

Hiding behind a keyboard to issue threats against politicians does not ensure anonymity.

Meanwhile, on 14 April 2022 four members of the Prime Minister's security detail were knocked off the road , leaving the Prime Minister exposed to an attack from the rear: 

"Circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated, however initial enquiries indicate that the Triton has collided with the rear of the police vehicle, while attempting to merge.

As one can see from the video above, that is  not likely to have happened when Morrison visited the UK recently.  

Readers can decide for themselves if the AFP is suffering a case of misplaced priorities.

Two Tasmania Police officers and two Australian Federal Police officers have been taken to hospital after a car crash involving the prime minister's security detail in Tasmania.

Four members of Prime Minister Scott Morrison's security detail have been hospitalised after a crash in Tasmania on Thursday afternoon.

The prime minister was uninjured and not involved in the accident.

Mr Morrision said in a statement that he was relieved the officers involved in the crash had all been safely transferred to hospital to receive treatment.

"We have all got to know each other over the years. They are selfless, professional and incredibly generous. I hope to hear further good news about their condition," Mr Morrison said.

Opposition leader Anthony Albanese also wished the officers involved a speedy recovery, praising them for their "fantastic work".

Tasmania Police said it's investigating the two-vehicle crash on the Bass Highway near Elizabeth Town and have called for any witnesses to come forward.

Two of its officers and two Australian Federal Police officers who were in a security follow vehicle have been taken to hospital for further assessment.

"The crash involved an unmarked police car and a Mitsubishi Triton, which were both travelling west between Deloraine and Latrobe.

"Circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated, however initial enquiries indicate that the Triton has collided with the rear of the police vehicle, while attempting to merge.

"Four police officers (a man and a woman from AFP, and two men from Tasmania Police) received non-life-threatening injuries, after their vehicle rolled down an embankment.

"As is normal process for a crash involving police, the Tasmania Police Professional Standards Unit has been advised and will monitor the investigation.

"Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact police on 131 444. Dashcam or other footage can be submitted via the Evidence Portal."

All officers were conscious when transferred and the driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

A spokesperson for Mr Morrison has said in a statement: "Family members of the officers have been contacted and are being kept informed of their condition."

"The PM is always extremely grateful for the protection provided by his security team and extends his best wishes for their recovery and to their families."

Thursday afternoon’s campaign event was cancelled.

Minister for Home Affairs Karen Andrews praised the affected police officers for their duty.

"I wish the members of the Australian Federal Police and Tasmania Police injured today in a traffic incident a speedy recovery. They were on duty, providing protection to the Prime Minister. My thoughts are with them and their families, and I thank them for their service," she said.

Anne Aly still not saying anything about her NGO PAVE's funding, Malaysian and other Muslim connections, and refusal to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organisation

Anne Aly believes the government needs to do more to protect

From Ann Aly, according to the ABC:

"What we've seen is that The Base very much operates as a terrorist organisation in the way in which they recruit, in the way in which they communicate, the way in which they circumvent security."

It is surprising that "we've (not) seen that" the Muslim Brotherhood, which is active in Australia; is not also a terrorist organisation and that Aly and friends are not also demanding that the Muslim Brotherhood be banned. 

Meanwhile, Aly has yet to provide answers to these issues revealed in 2017, which concern he charity PAVE's financial management. The charity is funded by taxpayers.

Neither has she explained why queries from this writer about PAVE were sent to a person or persons in Malaysia.

Labor MP Anne Azza Aly is founding chairperson of People Against Violent Extremism (PAVE), a charity registered with the Australian Charities And Not For Profits Commission.

 As of November 2016 PAVE's statutory filing of financial statements for the year ended 30 June 2015  remained overdue.When this was made known to media in November last year by this writer,  she responded via an email demanding to know what this writer could do to help her meet her reporting obligations (I kid you not).

When the accounts were finally lodged, the accounts showed that some AUD 210,000 in government funding was explained away in just two items; "Other Expenses" and a "Surplus",which has presumably been retained by Ms Aly.

As for Aly, silence prevails on all matters raised, including her connections with Malaysia.

"Other" in accounting terms means miscellaneous and that is how Anne Aly MP explains spending the bulk of a government grant.

Other expenses/payments

118,844

The quantum of the next largest item is only $ 8,131. Consequently, more than 93% of outflows have not been identified.

The ultimate destination of the  surplus of $ 91487,or 42% of the total inflows  is also not  explained.

Therefore only 3.7 % of the total income of the charity (almost all of which is in the form of a  government  grant of about $210,000)  is accounted for.

Even Saudi Arabia considers the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist threat, but not the Australian Government - Australian Government designates The Base , but not the Muslim Brotherhood, vote chasing seems to have trumped intelligence yet again

The Saudi ministry of education is pushing ahead with efforts to roll back Muslim Brotherhood influence in the country’s educational system.

The authorities recently decided to remove teachers who persist in teaching extremist and intolerant ideas which are inherited from the previous school curricula dominated by Muslim Brotherhood thinking.

Such ideas, they point out, run counter the current Saudi choice of cultural and religious values of openness and moderation.

The Brotherhood's leader Shiek Yusof Qaradawi and the Muslim Brotherhood are well represented in Australia. The Grand Mufti Of Australia Dr Abu Ibrahim has been reported to have links to Qaradawi (see story from The Australian above) and is a member of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, which Qaradawi led until vey recently.




The Brotherhood has a history of instigating and organising jihadi attacks. While the Australian Government has designated The Base, it has refused to designate the Muslim Brotherhood despite its history of close to a century of terrorist activity. It appears that the fear of losing the Muslim vote has again trumped intelligence (including intelligence in the public domain).

NSW Supreme Court position in favour of sharia not matched by any statement in favour of other faiths-Perception of bias among adherents of other faiths justified

The. NSW Supreme Court's  position in favour of sharia   is  not matched by any similar statement in favour of other faiths.  There is at least a perception of bias, especially given the somewhat sanitized version of sharia that the Court describes, which  it says is  not incompatible with Australian law.

The story above includes this paragraph which the Legal Profession Admission Board NSW, whose chairman is the Chief Justice NSW Tom Bathurst, have deemed to be defamatory ,and lacking "insight": 


The Hon Justice M J Beazley AO, President Of The Court Of Appeal ,State Of NSW, Australia ,said in a speech delivered in 2014, but not widely reported:
"...despite a perception that Islam and the Australian law are incompatible, this is not borne out by the caselaw"
She did so in conjunction with the Affinity Intercultural Foundation, the Australian arm of the Fetullah Gulen movement. While Gulen and his followers have been recently victimised by former friend and ally Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the president of Turkey who they helped install, Gulen and his people are not innocent of jihadi activity.
They are nevertheless quite adapt at recruiting Western "intellectuals" to promote their, cause, Her Honour is only the most recent.



Now , compare the views of the highly learned justices to that of the Sultan Of Brunei, an absolute monarch of a Muslim country:

Why do you care so much what's happening here in an Islamic nation when you didn't even bat an eyelid about the Syrians, Bosnians, Rohingyas, Palestinians, etc.

Why don’t you worry about your kids being gunned down in schools, worry about your prisons being unable to accommodate convicts, worry about your high rate of crimes and DUIs, worry about your high suicide and abortion rate, worry about whatever it is that you should be worried about there. Many religions are against homosexuality, it’s nothing new. The moment you hear that Islam and Muslims making a stand and trying to reaffirm their faith, you judge, you boycott, you say that it’s wrong, it’s stupid, it’s barbaric. Again, go back to those worries that you should focus on I’ve mentioned earlier. Is it not wrong to legalize deadly weapons, is it not wrong to allow unborn babies to be killed, is it not wrong to allow a lifestyle that results in AIDS and discontinuation of the next generation? Why do you care so much what’s happening here in an Islamic nation when you didn’t even bat an eyelid about the Syrians, Bosnians, Rohingyas, Palestinians, etc. Thousands are being killed there and you don’t care, not one is killed here under this Shari’ah Law, and you make a big fuss, even when the citizens here who are directly affected by it, accepts it with peace. Punishments may be harsher but it does not mean it’s easier to be carried out. There are processes to go through before an actual conviction. We are fine with it, we are happy.”
