While you're running the bombs are dropping -NSW Supreme Court decision in favour of pro Palestine and pro HAMAS acitivists endangers Sydney Marathon 2025 runners inclduing Elihud Kipchoge

Two-time Olympic marathon gold medallist Eliud Kipchoge will head Down Under to compete at the TCS Sydney Marathon – a World Athletics Platinum Label road race – on Sunday 31 August

NSW Supreme Court judge Belinda Rigg has opened the door to the Palestine Action Group disrupting the Sydney Marathon 2025 , in the name of whatever grieves the PAG and its members. The PAG has marched through the Sydney CBD on almosy every Sunday since the October 7 2034 HAMAS raid on Israel, ostensibly demanding Palestine statehood, but in effect in support of HAMAS. Police and polticians deem the marches "peaceful" but the anti-Israel tone and language would suggest  otherwise. "While you're shopping the bombs are dropping" is a oft used  refrain.

Rigg J has ruled:
“It is very much in the entitlement to public protest that disruption will be caused to others.
“The fact the proposed assembly is likely to cause significant inconvenience to residents ... is far from determinative.
“If matters such as this were to be determinative, no assembly involving inconvenience to others would be permitted.”

Justice Belinda Rigg does not seem to think that the denial of the rights of others to go about their normal business matters. In a few weeks time, that will include runners and participants at the TCS Sydney Marathon 2025.
Riggs J also seems unable to comprehend what closing off the Sydney Harbour Bridge will do the entire city.
This seems to have been the winning argument:
(Barrister Felicity Graham) said she had the "firmest of instructions" from the Palestine Action Group that the event would go ahead.
She said it's been called in the context of "momentum that has developed in support of the Palestinian people" and to deprive groups of the right to demonstrate in an authorised assembly would lead to "resentment and alienation".

The TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS is the newest Abbott World Marathon Major, and will have an expected record 35,000 participants on the start line in 2025.


2025 marks the first time ever that the Sydney Marathon will be ranked as an Abbott World Marathon Major.It has attracted the participation of Elihud Kipcoge., amongst other elite runners.

The safety of runners and spectators is in the hands of pro Gaza and pro-HAMAS supporters.
